Care and Use

How to clean your piece:

Carefully hand wash with soap and warm water.  Should you have some stubborn wax, run the spot under warm water and simply peel the wax off with your fingers, or scrape with something plastic.  Another option is to put the piece in the refrigerator for a bit and the wax should pop right off.

Types of candles:

Votive size- one tealight or votive candle is recommended

Luminary size - 2 or 3 tealights or votive candles are recommended. Though they will fit a pillar candle, the wicks often smoke, leaving a black residue on the inside of the piece, and they are too tall to let the design be seen completely.

As an alternative to candles we recommend battery powered LED string lights, also called fairy lights.  The light the piece quite well and come in many different lengths for the different size candle holders.  Please get rechargeable batteries, as they tend to go through them quickly.

Light bulbs for lanterns:

The sockets we use are UL approved, and the manufacturer recommends the use of a 7watt bulb.  We are not responsible for fire or damage due to the usage of anything higher than 7watts in the candelabra sockets.  It is possible to use LED bulbs as well and you will get a brighter light for your 7 watts, as LED's will draw less power and put out more light.  For example, a bulb that draws 4 watts of power and puts out 40 watts of light will be safe to use, as it falls below the recommended 7 watt draw limit.
